The United Nations body tasked with providing regular scientifc assessments on climate change, its implications and potential future risks. It represents a cross-section of global scientifc expertise and is widely recognised as the most credible source of scientifc information on the subject. The IPCC is behind the recommendation that global warming is kept to well below 2 °C and preferably to 1.5 °C by mid-21st century.
