A carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e) is the measure used to provide a like-for-like comparison of the emissions from various greenhouse gases (NH4, N2O, HFCs, PFCs, SF6 and NF3), on the basis of their global warming potential, by converting amounts of other gases to the equivalent amount of carbon dioxide with the same global warming potential.
